This page includes all the information you need for the best Brutiful ride yet. We update this page daily. The information on this page supersedes any email, newsletter, other webpages, or the many rumors you may have heard.   • Distance: 3 routes of 32, 44, and 63 miles.

Start Location

Milford Center, New Hampshire. Pre-ride meeting is on the “Oval” that is literally the center of town. Parking details below.

Before the ride we’re meeting for an optional breakfast that is also right in the center of town. If you’d like to join us please email us by 9:00 pm on Friday, January 11 so we can reserve you a seat. Breakfast location:

Estimated drive time, worst case:

  • About 55 minutes from Ride Studio Cafe in Lexington

  • About 75 minutes from Ride Headquarters in Sherborn

Route Information

If you’ve RSVP’ed for the ride we’ve emailed you the route. Here is some general information about the three routes.

63 Mile Route

  • Miles of dirt:  ~50% of the miles are on dirt roads.  The majority of the pavement is in the first 4 miles and last 15 miles of the ride.

  • About 80 feet of climbing per mile. A total of 5,000 feet of ascent. Hillier than the average eastern Massachusetts ride but not as hilly as a typical New Hampshire ride.

  • Four warm food stops on route.

44 Mile Route

  • Matches the 63 mile route for the first 15.5 miles.

  • Miles of dirt:  ~40% of the miles are on dirt roads.  The majority of the pavement is in the second half of the ride.  The ride gets a bit easier and faster as it progresses. 

  • About 72 feet of climbing per mile. A total of 3,200 feet of ascent. Hillier than the average eastern Massachusetts ride but not as hilly as a typical New Hampshire ride.

  • Two warm food stops on route.

32 Mile Route

  • Matches the 63 mile route for the first 15.5 miles. Also matches the 44 mile route for the first 23.3 miles -- until the Mobil station stop.

  • Miles of dirt:  ~33% of the miles are on dirt roads.  The majority of the dirt begins at about mile 4 and wraps up at about mile 16.  The last 6 miles is flat, paved, and fast to the finish.

  • About 75 feet of climbing per mile. A total of 2,350 feet of ascent. Hillier than the average eastern Massachusetts ride but not as hilly as a typical New Hampshire ride.

  • One warm food stop on route.


Schedule

For those participating in the 63-mile route at 17-18mph or over 18mph

  • 7:30am - Optional - Arrive at Breakfast at Cafe on the Oval

  • 8:45am - Check In and Rider meeting in the grassy area called the Oval - center of town

  • 9:00am - Rollout 

For everyone else participating in the 63-mile route

  • 7:45am - Optional - Arrive at Breakfast at Cafe on the Oval

  • 9:05am - Check In and Rider meeting in the grassy area called the Oval - center of town

  • 9:15am - Rollout

For all riders participating in the 44-mile route or 32-mile route

  • 8:00am - Optional - Arrive at Breakfast at Cafe on the Oval

  • 9:20am - Check In and Rider meeting in the grassy area called the Oval - center of town

  • 9:30am - Rollout - All 17-18mph riders

  • 9:35am - Rollout - All riders rolling slower than 17mph


Bike Requirements

Based on current weather conditions. This information could change so keep an eye on this section.

  • Tires: 28mm or larger. No need for anything bigger than 40mm.

  • Taillight set to steady — not flashing. Bring an extra set of batteries.

  • Headlight 100% charged and ready for use.

Breakfast - RESERVE Your Seat! 

Breakfast is optional, but we think this is a nice way to start the day — with warm food, time together with each other, and it's right across the street from the ride start. We will make reservations for breakfast. If you want your spot reserved at breakfast, please email us saying so, and include your expected arrival time. The deadline for reserving your place is 9:00 pm on Friday, January 11.

If you’re joining us tell the server that you’re with the “Brutiful party” or “the Brutifuls.”

Parking

Parking in town is free and easily available on side streets and right in the center of Milford. For GPS navigation, plug in the breakfast location — Cafe on the Oval — as that brings you to the center of Milford and the town Oval where we'll be doing pre-ride meetings and each group rolls out from here. the Oval is a big grassy area in the town center that you can’t miss.

Post Ride Festivities

  • Beer or coffee and snacks at Union Coffee Company, 42 South St., Milford NH. Again, right in the center of town.
